With a long competitive career of over 30 years, covering track and field, cross country, road and triathlons, with over 30 years with Kent AC, Mick has continued to mix racing with officiating, with UK Athletics (London Licence Panel, Level 4 Endurance Official and Event Adjudicator) and BARR (British Association of Road Races), Regional rep for London and the South East and Northern Ireland and Senior Scrutineer official for more than five years.
Mick has extensive knowledge and experience from dozens of events, of all sized from big commercial events to small club or local races.
He has been the Course Director for the Tonbridge Half Marathon since its inception, and takes pride in offering a safe, accurate race for all participants, indeed a race he would love to have a go at, given half a chance!
Branching out to introduce new and exciting events such as the Not the Rio Marathon, Weald Way Trail 10 or working in partnership with races such as the Lakesman (Ironman)Triathlon, Hyde Park Sunset Aquathlon series, or Vets AC and their highly competitive summer runs and walks in Battersea Park – watch this space for more information on all of these events!

Mick is working on new events, he’s investigating a new training camp in Les Charmettes in Charente Maritime, West France and working with BARR in provide training courses offering peer advice from current experienced officials and race directors to those new to officiating or taking on the challenge of organising an event – busy times.
